Kirklees Older People Network

The next Home Safety Forum is at Siddal Ex-servicemen’s Club on Tuesday 20th October, 10.30 am to9 2.30 pm. A wide range of agencies will be present, offering masses of help and advice, plus home fire safety checks, low-energy light bulbs and benefit entitlement checks. There’s a prize draw, and free tea and coffee!

Congratulations

Congratulations to our fundraising team who successfully climbed the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. Traffic congestion on the M6 prevented them from completing this within 24 hours, but it’s a fantastic achievement and has raised around £1500. Well done!

On Friday, a team of seven fundraisers (plus Hope the dog) set off to complete the UK Three peaks Challenge to raise funds for Age Concern Calderdale and Kirklees.
Starting in Scotland, the aim is that within 24 hours, starting at 6am on Saturday, they will climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Peak and Snowdon.
